Roma have opened contract talks with Argentine winger Erik Lamela over a new long-term contract, according to a report.
Lamela has been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur in recent weeks after scoring 15 times in Serie A last season.
The 20-year-old's current contract at the Stadio Olimpico expires in 2016, but the Giallorossi are looking to tie the youngster down to fresh terms.
Roma director Walter Sabatini is aware of interest from Spurs and is prepared to offer Lamela a pay rise to sign until 2018, according to The Mirror.
New Roma coach Rudi Garcia is believed to perceive Lamela as an important part of his plans this season, despite signing 11 new players including Kevin Strootman, Maicon and Mehdi Benatia this summer.
