Jose Canas closes in on Elche switch?

La Liga side Elche are reportedly close to securing the services of Swansea City midfielder Jose Canas.

Swansea City's central midfielder Jose Canas has reportedly held discussions over a move to Elche.

The 27-year-old, who joined the Welsh side last summer from Real Betis, was left out of the club's ongoing pre-season tour of the USA by manager Garry Monk.

That presented his representatives with the chance to discuss terms with other teams, one of which was La Liga outfit Elche, who are close to reaching an agreement to sign the midfielder, according to the Daily Mail.

Celta Vigo are also thought to be monitoring Canas's situation at the Liberty Stadium.
