Former Argentina international Luciano Galletti has joined Greek Super League outfit OFI Crete on a one-year contract.
The 33-year-old, who has not played for three seasons after being diagnosed with serve kidney failure in 2010, retired from football aged 30.
However, the experienced midfielder, who won two Greek titles with Olympiacos Piraeus from 2007 to 2009, has now announced his return.
"I'm delighted to have come to Heraklion to play for this club. I am feeling great and have trained with Estudiantes," he told reporters at a press conference.
"I expect to continue my fitness training here to be ready for the start of the season. I believe I have two to three years of top-level football to offer."
Galletti made 13 appearances for Argentina.
