New York Cosmos have completed the signing of former Spain international Marcos Senna.
The 36-year-old midfielder left Villareal at the end of last season after 11 years with the Spanish club.
Senna has agreed to move to the resurrected franchise, which will play in the North American Soccer League next season.
"This is a very special moment for me in joining the Cosmos, because I face a new challenge, but at the same time it has been a difficult decision to leave Villarreal after 11 seasons," Goal.com quotes Senna as saying.
Senna made over 300 appearances for Villarreal.
