Sven-Goran Eriksson has declared his interest in bringing Frank Lampard to his Chinese side Guangzhou Evergrande.
Eriksson recommended the England midfielder to his bosses at the club in China, but Lampard's £150,000-a-week wage may be a stumbling block in the deal.
The former England manager told reporters: "I have suggested to the club they take Frank Lampard.
"He would be great in China, he is a football man, very proud and clever so if he thinks he can go on for another year or two, he will not go just for a holiday."
Lampard has several offers on the table as he prepares for the World Cup with England, but the former Chelsea man has said he will make a decision regarding his future after the tournament.
Eriksson, who guided England at the 2006 World Cup in Germany, is currently being linked with the China national team managerial role.
