Former Aston Villa midfielder Isaiah Osbourne has joined Walsall on a one-year contract.
The 27-year-old played for Scunthorpe United last season, making 27 appearances for the Iron.
"He's a lad who came in last season to train with us and was struggling for fitness at the time," manager Dean Smith told Walsall's official website. "He ended up going to Scunthorpe but he's a player I've always liked and he's a likeable person as well.
"We've had him back in on trial and he's proved his fitness so we're delighted to have agreed a contract with him. He will certainly improve us with his ability and experience in midfield and gives us another option in that department as well."
Walsall continue their League One campaign on Saturday when they host Bury.
