West Bromwich Albion's Brown Ideye desperate for comeback

West Bromwich Albion striker Brown Ideye is eager to return to first-team action after spending a month on the sidelines with an ankle injury.

West Bromwich Albion striker Brown Ideye has revealed that he is desperate for a return to the first team after a month on the sidelines.

The 26-year-old sustained an ankle injury in his side's Capital One Cup victory over Hull City in the process of scoring his first goal for the club.

Ideye has admitted that he has been frustrated by his absence, but is closing in on a return to action after making the bench for his team's 2-2 draw against Manchester United.

He told the club's official website: "It has been disappointing being out because I would love to play. I am back now so I just have to look forward to the games I do play.

"I was a little bit sad about it because I believed getting my first goal was a great thing for me. I just had to start from there but I got injured.

"I just have to move forward right now, give my best in every game and pray that the team continues to do well because if things go well for the team, they will go well for me."

The Baggies face Crystal Palace in their Premier League clash later today.
