Shane Long admits that the thought of playing in Europe next season does 'cross his mind' following West Bromwich Albion's launch to third in the Premier League table.

West Bromwich Albion striker Shane Long believes that the Baggies have a chance of playing in Europe next season if they manage to keep up their impressive form.

The Premier League outfit are currently third in the league table following their 4-2 win over Sunderland at the weekend.

"It does cross your mind that could be us playing in Europe next year," Sky Sports News quotes Long as saying. "You can dream, everyone can dream. We can dream that because we have put ourselves in a good position.

"If we carry on like this who knows what is possible? We will get to that 40-point mark, which is our first objective, and take it from there."

The Baggies are enjoying their best start to a season since 1953.
