West Ham United midfielder Mark Noble has revealed that he is hoping that Carl Jenkinson will be fit for the start of the season.
The defender, who recently joined the club on loan from Arsenal, injured his hamstring during Sunday's friendly defeat to Malaga.
Jenkinson is due to undergo a scan to determine the extent of the damage, though there are fears that he will be sidelined for the opening few games of the Premier League campaign.
"Hopefully it is not too bad because we need players like that fit for the start of the season," Noble told Sky Sports News.
"It was a precaution to take him off and we have two more games before we start the season with a tough one against Tottenham."
West Ham start the new Premier League season at home to Spurs on August 16.
