York City have appointed former Dundee United boss Jackie McNamara as the club's new manager.
The Minstermen had been looking for a new boss after parting company with Russ Wilcox last week following a run of nine games without a win in League Two.
McNamara, who has also managed Partick Thistle, had been out of work since leaving Dundee at the end of September.
The former Celtic and Scotland defender will be assisted at Bootham Crescent by former international teammate Simon Donnelly.
York, who are 22nd in League Two, take on Accrington Stanley in the first round of the FA Cup on Saturday.
