Shaun Wane hails Wigan Warriors desire

Wigan Warriors coach Shaun Wane admits that his players showed "real desire" to beat Leeds Rhinos 27-12 in Super League.

Wigan Warriors coach Shaun Wane has praised the "desire" of his side following their 27-12 win over Leeds Rhinos in Super League.

The Warriors ended their two-game losing run in all competitions on Saturday thanks to a gritty triumph at St James' Park.

While paying credit to Leeds for their own performance, Wane believes that his players did themselves proud with a dogged display.

"It was a great response," he told Sky Sports News. "We bounced back after training well and people saw the real Wigan.

"Credit to Leeds, they're an outstanding team and showed some unbelievable skills, but when our backs were to the wall, we showed some real desire."

Wigan continue their Super League campaign on June 7 when they make the trip to Huddersfield Giants.
