England coach Stuart Lancaster has revealed that Luther Burrell is likely to miss next month's Autumn Internationals opener against New Zealand as he recovers from injury.
The Northampton Saints centre suffered a problem with his hand on Saturday during his club's victory over Ospreys in Europe.
Lancaster is refusing to rule Burrell out for the whole of the upcoming series, but he admits that the 26-year-old will probably sit out the game against the All Blacks.
"Luther is seeing the specialist today," Lancaster is quoted as saying by The Telegraph. "He's had a CT scan and there should be a bit more clarity once he has seen the specialist.
"He's still in the equation further down the line. He's definitely not out the series. We'll see. We'll see how he goes.
"I think it would be tight for New Zealand, if I'm being honest. He's not been in camp this week at all. He's seeing the specialist and it will probably unfold over the weekend."
England face world champions New Zealand at Twickenham Stadium on November 8.
