England head coach Stuart Lancaster has revealed that Wasps lock Joe Launchbury has been called up as temporary cover for struggling Tom Palmer.
Launchbury is expected to train with the rest of the squad ahead of England's international against Fiji and will be called upon if Palmer's calf problem prevents him from playing.
"Tom's training was limited last week because of a calf injury so we are bringing Joe in as a precaution and because of the form he has shown recently," the Shropshire Star quotes Lancaster as saying.
"We know that he will fit in to the squad well having played in the Barbarians match and in the preparation for the South Africa tour."
England take on Fiji in their first of four autumn internationals this Saturday.
