Tommy Haas has reached the quarter-finals of the French Open with a comfortable 6-1 6-1 6-3 victory over Mikhail Youzhny.
The 12th seed started off the stronger of the two competitors by grabbing an early break of serve and instant hold to take a substantial lead over Youzhny.
The Russian pro struggled to find his form in the first set and was forced to relinquish the advantage, leaving him with the challenge of pushing the match into a four-set battle.
Haas continued to dominate with strong shots and serves to take another instant lead in the second set, swiftly wrapping up a two-set advantage in Paris.
Youzhny tried to launch a comeback by winning more than two games in the set for the first time in the contest, but Haas ruined Youzhny's hopes of causing an upset by securing a break of serve and pushing on to win the match.
