Novak Djokovic eases into quarter-finals of Monte Carlo Masters

Novak Djokovic grabs a place in the quarter-finals of the Monte Carlo Masters with a comfortable straight-sets win over Andreas Haider-Maurer.

Novak Djokovic has comfortably secured a place in the quarter-finals of the Monte Carlo Masters with a 6-4 6-0 victory over Andreas Haider-Maurer.

The world number one had a blistering start to the first set by going a break up at the first time of asking, but he was unable to create another break point in the opener.

Haider-Maurer, who was unseeded for the tournament, held serve well on the clay surface, but the Serbian's early break was enough to give him a one-set lead.

After moving in front, Djokovic sped through the second set by grabbing three breaks on the bounce and served for the match, leaving his opponent without a single game on the board.

Djokovic will take on fellow countryman Marin Cilic in the final eight.
