Former world number one Kim Clijsters will be out of action for at least four weeks with a hip injury.
The 28-year-old made her comeback from an ankle complaint at the Sony Ericsson Open this week, reaching round three before being beaten by fellow Belgian Yanina Wickmayer.
Clijsters is believed to have sustained the problem as she prepared for the match against Wickmayer.
Her management company have released a statement that describes the injury as a "small torn muscle" in the right hip.
She is now not expected to return until the Madrid Open in early May.
