Andy Murray says that Ivan Lendl has had a positive effect on his game since hiring him as his coach at the start of the season.

Andy Murray has revealed that new coach Ivan Lendl has been "good fun" to work with.

The Scot, who appointed Lendl as his new coach at the start of the year, said that the Czech-born American has been surprised by his work ethic.

Murray hopes that the eight-time Grand Slam champion will be around for the long haul as he continues his own charge for major titles.

"He has been very good fun and fun to work with," said Murray. "I don't want it just to be a six-month or nine-month thing.

"He is a lot more open-minded than I expected. I don't know if he expected me to work as hard as I have been or listen as much as I have.

"He said the one thing that surprised him was I learn quite quickly."

Murray recently lost to Novak Djokovic in the final of the Miami Masters.
