David Ferrer is on course to clinch the Qatar Open trophy after reaching the semi-finals courtesy of a 6-3 6-0 win over Paolo Lorenzi.
The Spaniard started off strongly by snatching the first break of serve but Lorenzi launched some powerful shots across the court to remain in contention.
Despite getting three games on the board, it wasn't enough to push Ferrer off his stride and the number one seed claimed the first set in Doha.
The second set was a breeze for the Spaniard, who dominated the court with well-executed serves and returns, leaving Lorenzi struggling to come up with any answers.
After claiming the first break, Ferrer didn't drop a game and grabbed a place in the semi-finals of the competition in just over one hour.
