Aberdeen coach Paul Sheerin has revealed that the Dons will resolve the future of Derek McInnes by the end of Thursday.
McInnes has been the subject of an approach from Rangers and although Aberdeen rejected the initial move, McInnes has not continued with his duties for the Scottish Premiership side.
However, with Aberdeen scheduled to face Dundee on Friday night, Sheerin has suggested that discussions between McInnes and the club will come to a swift conclusion.
Sheerin told reporters: "There will be a resolution on the manager sometime today and we're preparing for the game tomorrow night.
"I've spoken to Derek about the game tomorrow and not about anything else. The uncertainty over the situation is not ideal but we just have to get on with it and focus on the match at Dundee."
Dons Supporters' Together chairman Scott Barclay has suggested that McInnes's position at the club has become untenable.
