Clarence Seedorf: "I feel like I've never been away"

Clarence Seedorf admits that he was "very happy" to be offered the role of head coach at AC Milan.

Clarence Seedorf has declared himself "very happy" at being given the opportunity to become head coach of AC Milan.

The former Milan midfielder announced that he was ending his playing career on Tuesday to replace Massimiliano Allegri at the San Siro.

"You cannot say that I'm back, because I feel like I've never been away. It's great for me to see all this enthusiasm," Seedorf told the Milan Channel.

"We have much to do to bring AC Milan back to the top. I'm very happy.

"I have to give 100% to rebuild enthusiasm and give security to the team. I left Milan in May of 2012 at the end of a cycle. My job will be to reopen another."

Seedorf played for Milan for 10 years before moving to Botafogo in 2012.
