AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic confirms that he wants to stay on at San Siro for the 2021-22 campaign and is feeling "positive" about a new deal.

AC Milan forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic has affirmed that he is "positive" about the prospect of signing a new deal with the Rossoneri.

The 39-year-old has not been immune from injuries in recent months, but his goalscoring prowess has not let up and he boasts 15 goals in 15 Serie A matches for Stefano Pioli's side this term.

Ibrahimovic's contract at San Siro is due to expire at the end of the current campaign, but speculation over a renewal has been rife after his prolific performances, and the Sweden international has confirmed that he wants to continue at Milan into his 40s.

Speaking to reporters, the former Barcelona and Manchester United man said: "I'm feeling really well at AC Milan and I'm positive about renewing my contract.

"This is the atmosphere we've created and that's why we are successful. I want to continue at Milan. The project is exciting."

The veteran forward is now gearing up for his return to the Sweden national team after a four-year absence, starting with Thursday's World Cup qualifier against Georgia.
