Former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has described reports that he is on the verge of agreeing a deal to take over as the new manager of AC Milan as "fake news".
Speculation emerged earlier this week that the Frenchman would be handed a route back into football with the Italian outfit, replacing Gennaro Gattuso in charge at San Siro.
Wenger is on the lookout for a new job having left the Gunners after 22 years during the summer, but the 69-year-old has rubbished claims that any deal has been agreed with Milan.
"The only thing I can say is that it's fake news," Wenger told beIN Sports.
"If I signed somewhere I would tell you, but it's wrong news. I cannot master the rumours, I can only master what I do in my life."
Milan have recently appointed former Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis, who is understood to have been instrumental in ending Wenger's long reign at the Emirates Stadium.
