Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has set his sights on getting the 2017-18 campaign off to a winning start with victory in the Community Shield against Arsenal on Sunday.
The Blues' matches against the Gunners last season went a long way to shaping Conte's debut campaign in English football, with a 3-0 loss in September proving to be the catalyst for a change of formation which saw Chelsea embark on a record winning streak.
Arsenal also beat Chelsea in the FA Cup final in May to deny them the double, and Conte is expecting another difficult test at Wembley this weekend.
"It was a pity to lose the game, to lose the FA Cup final against Arsenal after a really great season for us. Now there is another game. We know very well Arsenal is a strong team," he told reporters.
"We're waiting a game very difficult for us and want to try to start the season with a win. The same [for] Arsenal. I want to see a good game, for the players, for the people.
"After a good season you have to keep the positive things and try to change the negative things. One positive thing was our formation, our system. Now we are trying to continue to work in this system to try to improve. Every system needs to improve season by season, year by year."
Chelsea have not won the Community Shield since 2009.
