Lukas Podolski says that he is still two weeks away from being at his best after making his Arsenal debut on Sunday.

Arsenal striker Lukas Podolski has insisted that he needs another two weeks to be 100% ready for the upcoming Premier League season.

The Germany striker scored a brace on his debut for the Gunners in their 4-0 win at his former club FC Koln in their final friendly of the summer on Sunday.

Despite his good performance, Podolski still believes that he is not at his fully ready for the new campaign yet and needs another fortnight to get to his best.

"First match and first goals. I was very surprised by the reaction of the Arsenal fans. I heard them chanting my name and it was crazy," Podolski said.

"I have felt part of Arsenal from the first day, to score in my first match was great. I need another two weeks to be fully ready."

The 27-year-old was Arsene Wenger's first signing of the summer and has since been joined by Olivier Giroud and Santi Cazorla.
