Barcelona have reportedly agreed a £15m fee with Arsenal for the capture of defender Thomas Vermaelen.
Gunners manager Arsene Wenger recently suggested that the Belgian could be on his way out of the Emirates after falling down the team pecking order.
Manchester United were heavily linked with a £10m move for the defender, but reports have emerged today claiming that the Red Devils have pulled out of a deal due to their refusal to consider a player swap deal with Arsenal.
According to BBC Sport, Barcelona are now in pole position to sign Vermaelen after agreeing a £15m fee with the North London outfit.
The 28-year-old joined Arsenal from Ajax back in 2009.
