Roma have reportedly agreed to meet Arsenal's €20m (£17m) asking price for Granit Xhaka.
The Switzerland international was again an important player for the Gunners during the 2020-21 campaign, making 45 appearances in all competitions, contributing one goal and two assists in the process.
Roma have allegedly identified the 28-year-old as a leading target, though, and Arsenal are said to be open to selling the Swiss, as they prepare to overhaul their midfield this summer.
A recent report claimed that talks between the Italian giants and the London club had broken down, as the pair were too far away in terms of their own valuations of Xhaka.
However, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, Roma have now agreed to pay €20m (£17m) for the midfielder, while personal terms are not expected to be an issue.
Xhaka, who has two years left to run on his contract at the Emirates Stadium, has made 220 appearances for the Gunners since arriving from Borussia Monchengladbach in 2016.
