Atletico Madrid forward Kevin Gameiro insists that his team "will not stop" as they attempt to catch Barcelona at the top of La Liga.

Atletico Madrid forward Kevin Gameiro has insisted that his team "will not stop" as they attempt to catch Barcelona at the top of La Liga.

Barcelona have not lost a single league game this season to top the pile on 62 points, but Atletico have suffered just one defeat this term, and are only seven points off the Catalan giants in Spain's top flight.

Gameiro came off the bench to score in Atletico's 2-0 win over Athletic Bilbao on Sunday afternoon, and the French forward has said that his team "must continue along this path".

"This is a good victory for us, it was important to keep up our streak and remain strong," Gameiro told beIN Sports. "We must continue along this path and continue to push the league leaders, we will not stop in this and we are enjoying this at the moment as we know we are playing well."

Atletico have only conceded nine times in their 24 league fixtures this season.
