Atletico Madrid get back on track with win over Getafe

Atletico Madrid bounce back from two straight defeats by seeing off local rivals Getafe at the Vicente Calderon.

Second-placed Atletico Madrid have moved eight points clear of rivals Real Madrid courtesy of a 2-0 win at home to Getafe.

Adrian broke the deadlock in the 24th minute, but only at the second attempt. Gabi's cross found the striker in acres of space and fired past Miguel Moya after seeing his first effort saved.

Turkish international Arda Turan then doubled the lead by rounding Moya, despite appearing to bring the ball under control with his hand.

Radamel Falcao missed a golden opportunity to kill the game in the 75th minute, but it turned out to be of little consequence as Diego Simeone's men ran out comfortable winners.
