Atletico Madrid deny Marco Reus interest

Atletico Madrid CEO Miguel Angel Gil Marin claims that a reported move for Borussia Dortmund attacker Marco Reus was never on the cards.

Atletico Madrid CEO Miguel Angel Gil Marin has insisted that the club were never in the market for Borussia Dortmund attacker Marco Reus.

It has been speculated over the last few days that Atletico were preparing a big-money move for the German international, who is on the shopping list of several major clubs in Europe.

However, Martin has poured cold water on talk of interest from the La Liga champions.

"Reus has never been on Atletico's agenda and his profile does not fit with what the team currently need," he told TVE.

Reus missed his country's World Cup triumph this summer through injury.
