Barcelona team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Sevilla

Sports Mole rounds up Barcelona's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their La Liga showdown with Sevilla on Sunday.

Barcelona will be looking to make it three wins out of three in the 2020-21 La Liga season when they welcome Sevilla to Camp Nou for Sunday's mouthwatering showdown.

Ronald Koeman has made a stellar start to life in Catalonia, with his Blaugrana side inflicting a 4-0 thrashing on Villarreal before cruising to a 3-0 victory against Celta Vigo in midweek.

With the Catalan giants looking to dethrone Real Madrid as La Liga holders in the current campaign, Koeman will be desperate for his side to navigate their first real test of the season with determination and come out on top against the Europa League holders this weekend.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Barca's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their clash with Sevilla.

Junior Firpo

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: October 4 (vs. Sevilla)

Junior Firpo, who has been persistently linked with a move away from Camp Nou this summer, was forced to miss out the win over Celta Vigo with hamstring discomfort. The left-back's injury is not thought to be serious and he could be back for the weekend, although a quick return is unlikely.

Marc-Andre ter Stegen

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

First-choice goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen will remain sidelined until the end of November at least with a knee problem, although his recovery is going well. However, Barca have recorded two clean sheets from two with Neto deputising in goal for the Germany international.

Samuel Umtiti

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: October 4 (vs. Sevilla)

Samuel Umtiti continues to struggle with knee problems and was not involved in Barcelona's victory over Celta Vigo. The World Cup-winning Frenchman has an outside chance of being involved on Sunday but will most likely be forced to miss out once more.

BARCELONA'S SUSPENSION LIST

Clement Lenglet

Possible return date: October 17 (vs. Getafe)

Clement Lenglet was sent off for two bookable offences before the half-time whistle blew against Celta Vigo. As a result, the centre-back will serve a one-match suspension and is not available for selection on Sunday.
