Diego Godin: "We've fought all year"

Atletico Madrid defender Diego Godin says that his side have "fought all year" to win La Liga.

Atletico Madrid defender Diego Godin has revealed his delight after the capital outfit secured the La Liga title on Saturday evening.

Godin's second-half header against Barcelona was enough to gain a point at the Camp Nou and their first Spanish title since 1996.

"We've fought all year and done an amazing job," he told reporters after the game.

"To hold off Real Madrid and Barcelona has been difficult. Simeone told us at half-time that we were definitely going to score, and justice was done."

Atletico face Real Madrid in the Champions League final next weekend.
