Barcelona striker Luis Suarez has said that he is "very happy" at the club after signing a new long-term deal.
The Uruguayan agreed a five-year contract with the Spanish champions this afternoon, keeping him at Camp Nou until 2021.
The 29-year-old, who has a buyout clause of £167.5m in the new deal, was delighted to have renewed terms and urged Lionel Messi to join him in committing his future to the club.
"I am feeling overjoyed about being where I want to be. I feel very happy. It was the decision that we all wanted, both the club and me, we have a great relationship," he said in a statement.
"Any player would want to end their career at a club where they feel comfortable. We'll have to see, but I will never lose either my ambition or my enthusiasm. My happiness will be complete if Leo renews as well."
Suarez has scored 97 goals in just 116 appearances since joining Barca in 2014 and scored a club-record 84 in his first two seasons in Spain.
