PSG president: 'No worries over FFP'
Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi insists that he has no worries over the financial implications of Neymar's world-record transfer into the club.

Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has dismissed suggestions that the club's world-record acquisition of Neymar from Barcelona could be in breach of Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations.

The Ligue 1 side completed a €222m (£200m) deal for the Brazilian striker last night, handing him a five-year contract that will see him earn a staggering £537k a week after tax.

UEFA rules require clubs in Europe to ensure that their spend is kept in check, but Al-Khelaifi insisted that the club would be "very transparent" with the governing body in explaining the details of the transfer.

"Today [the transfer] is expensive but in two or three years? I do not think it is expensive, we will definitely make more money. This is the power of PSG," he told reporters today.

"It is an amazing transfer. We will be very transparent with Financial Fair Play, I have a strong team with me. If you are thinking about it, go have a coffee and don't worry about it.

"There is only one decision that matters and that is with Uefa. We are working very transparently with UEFA.

"We don't care about speculation in the media. We care that what we are doing is transparent and completely legal."

PSG's previous record buy was the £54.8m acquisition of Edinson Cavani from Napoli in July 2013.
