Barcelona midfielder Arturo Vidal admits that he is "not happy" at Barcelona after losing his place as an automatic starter for Ernesto Valverde.

Barcelona midfielder Arturo Vidal has admitted that he is "not happy" at Barcelona after losing his place as an automatic starter for boss Ernesto Valverde.

The 32-year-old has been linked with a move to Inter Milan in January after starting just one La Liga game for the Catalan giants this season.

Vidal has slipped behind Sergio Busquets, Arthur and Frenkie de Jong in the pecking order at Camp Nou, but the former Bayern Munich midfielder says that he wants to fight for his place in the team before considering a move.

Speaking to Chilean publication El Mercurio, he said: "I will work hard to not leave this club and contribute to our seasonal objectives. But I'm not happy.

"Even if I'm trying to get through this situation and earn a place in the starting lineup.

"I have worked hard my whole career, my moment hasn't arrived yet, but I'm calm, as I know it will.

"I don't seem to be able to find an explanation. There are different ways to look at football, these are the decisions a coach must take. I try to help the squad when I'm called upon."

Vidal scored three goals in 53 appearances for Barcelona last season after making the move from Germany.
