Blackburn Rovers midfielder Jason Lowe has revealed that the squad is full of confidence ahead of the new Championship campaign.
Rovers secured an eighth-place finish in the table last season after putting together an unbeaten run in their final 12 games.
However, Lowe is hopeful that he and his teammates can push for the playoffs when they return to action this term.
"We've got a young squad, very enthusiastic, but one that is very confident off the back of what we achieved towards the end of last year," he told the club's official website.
"It is a very tough league, one of the toughest to get out of because of the number of games and the physicality of it. So we'll take each game one at a time, but we are confident going into it so hopefully it puts us in good stead."
Blackburn play their first match of the season on Friday when they welcome Cardiff City to Ewood Park.
