Newcastle United have added to Blackburn Rovers' relegation worries with a 2-0 win at Ewood Park.
The visitors took the lead after 12 minutes when Ryan Taylor's shot deflected off Scott Dann and into the net.
Rovers had a chance before the break to draw level when Danny Simpson fouled Anthony Modeste in the penalty area. However, Tim Krul saved David Dunn's spot kick before denying Gael Givet the rebound.
Despite a number of second-half chances for the hosts, Newcastle delivered the killer blow in injury time when Gabriel Obertan broke to seal the win.
