Live Commentary: Celta Vigo 2-0 Sevilla - as it happened

Live commentary of the La Liga clash between Celta Vigo and Sevilla at Municipal de Balaidos.

Good evening and welcome to Sports Mole's live commentary of the La Liga clash between Celta Vigo and Sevilla at the Municipal de Balaidos.

The hosts Celta Vigo have had a disappointing start to the season with six points from a possible 18 so far. Last time out they were beaten 2-1 at Granada, leaving them in 14th position.

Sevilla, on the other hand, were defeated for the first time this season last weekend in a thrilling 3-2 game against Barcelona, in which they led 2-0. The away side currently sit fourth, but would need to win by five goals tonight to go above Malaga.

Celta will be hoping Iago Aspas can add to his tally tonight - he has scored two goals so far this term and bagged 23 in the club's promotion season last year.

Sevilla will naturally be looking to the clinical Spanish international Alvaro Negredo to get them through this tricky encounter.

10.25pm.Thank you for joining Sports Mole for the game tonight, that's all from me. Join us again for future commentaries!

10.24pmWell there you have it. I was expecting more from Sevilla, but it's back-to-back defeats for them. It was an excellent showing from the hosts, who kept a dangerous - although not full-strength - Sevilla attack at bay.

90+3 minFull-Time! Celta Vigo 2-0 Sevilla

90+2 minNegredo still working hard to get on the scoresheet, but I don't think Sevilla will get one tonight. They've been shut out really.

90+1 minPalop again comes way out of his area. This time he's adjudged to have been fouled.

90 minChance for Sevilla! Negredo is found in the box, but his shot is easy for Alvarez.

87 minIt's been thoroughly efficient from Celta tonight. They've played well and shown they can mix it up tactically.

86 minThat should be that. Quique De Lucas nods in an Augusto cross to surely wrap up the points. It was poor defending really, but still an excellent header.

85 minGOAL! CELTA 2-0 SEVILLA

84 minSevilla are pushing forward, which is leaving gaps at the back for Celta. This could be an interesting last six or so minutes.

83 minThe goalscorer comes off to a standing ovation from the Celta fans. He's been the best player tonight.

82 minCicinho wins a corner for Sevilla, but Celta defend well. From the break Palop comes a long way out to clear!

79 minAlvarez claims a deep cross from Cicinho. He's not had to do a lot but has looked solid.

78 minNavas wastes a good position with a wild shot from the corner of the box. If he'd looked up he might have seen some options.

76 minChance for Sevilla! Fantastic save from Alvarez from a Negredo header! Close.

75 minSevillas's attacks are continuing to break down in the final third as they have all night.

74 minCelta continue to look for a second, but Augusto is penalised for a foul.

72 min... Sevilla break from it and Negredo is flagged offside, but it was marginal - he was looking across the line and looked on. That said, he shot straight at Alvarez.

71 minNow Celta have a set-piece in a similar position...

70 minChance for Sevilla! The free-kick went out for a throw, Manu crossed to Negredo and he put it just wide. Really good chance.

69 minThey have a free-kick here with a good chance to swing it in. Del Moral is fouled.

68 minReyes resorts to shooting from distance. He was never likely to test the goalkeeper from there. The away side are running out of ideas.

67 minThere hasn't been a lot of urgency from Sevilla since the goal. In fact, Celta are doing more of the attacking here.

65 minSubstitution for Sevilla; Campagna comes off for Manu del Moral.

64 minCelta's strong home start looks like it might continue. It's vital for a promoted club to get results at home and this would be their third win at Balaidos.

62 minAlthough they've not had a host of chances, you can't say if either side deserve to be leading it's Celta Vigo. What can Sevilla do here? Will it be two defeats on the bounce?

60 minGOAL! CELTA 1-0 SEVILLA. Aspas gets his third of the season as he slots the penalty low down the middle.

60 minPenalty to Celta! The shot from the free-kick hit the wall, and the referee gives handball and a booking for Maduro! He did raise his arm, but it wasn't above his head...

59 minDangerous free-kick here for the hosts after a high boot from Navas. Can they work something...

58 minSubstitution for Celta Vigo. Park comes off for Mario Bermejo in what looks to be a straight swap.

57 minReyes this time guilty of overhitting a pass. However he's certainly changed the game so far - Sevilla look much better this half.

56 minRather than slow build-up, Celta are now playing more on the break. A cross comes in but it's well defended by Navarro.

54 minAlthough it's Sevilla doing much of the pressing now Reyes is on, Celta are still a threat with their pace up front.

52 minChance for Celta Vigo! Aspas again. Celta break and Oubina finds Aspas who shoots from range, but it's fairly comfortable for Palop.

51 minSome tidy passing from Celta Vigo, but ultimately they get nowhere as Sevilla claim back possession.

50 minNavas selfish there. Reyes finds him well, but the winger cuts on to his weaker foot and the shot is blocked.

48 minChance for Sevilla! Cicinho plays Navas through on the right but no-one can meet his cut-back. Dangerous.

47 minIt's Baba who makes way for the Spaniard. I'd have taken off Kondogbia personally, but I'm not the manager.

46 minAlthough maybe Jose Antonio Reyes might help? He's on for the second-half. We're off!

9.34pmFew minutes away from getting back underway here. From what I can see Sevilla do miss Trochowski and Rakitic. Particularly the Croatian for the some inventiveness.

9.30pmMy reckoning is something has to give in the second half. I fancy Sevilla to nick one early and to grab another as Celta Vigo push for an equaliser.

9.26pmAt the other end, Negredo was found in a good position by Baba but Cabral got across well to block the shot. That was as much as Sevilla managed - Celta have been the better team, but they have not done enough to lead.

9.24pmAspas tested Palop from an angle, which was well-struck but it would have had to be a fantastic strike to score from there.

9.22pmSo, no goals and little goalmouth action so far. It's been tactical, for sure, but really there was only one good chance at either end.

9.21pmHalf-time! Celta Vigo 0-0 Sevilla.

45 minAwful from Kondogbia and then awful from Park. Kondogbia gives the ball away poorly after a nice flick then Park takes a heavy touch and puts it out of play. Sums up the game that.

44 minNo. The cross comes in and it's only Navas, of all people, attacking it. That would have been an unlikely headed goal.

43 minCampagna wins a throw wide on the left, perhaps Sevilla can work something here?

42 min... Dangerous ball in, but no-one in a blue shirt could meet it. In fact, it's Park who tries a flick when he should have just swung a boot at it!

41 minYellow card! Botia gets booked and it's a free-kick in a dangerous position for Celta Vigo...

40 minIt won't be much of a claim to say I don't see a goal in this. Certainly not this half.

39 minAnd again! Space opens up for Sevilla but the pass cannot get through.

38 minStill a lack of a cutting edge in this, as a Navas pass goes astray.

36 minAugusto works some space on the right, it's cleared as far as Lopez but his shot from distance is blocked. Yellow card! Given to Krohn-Dehli for a flailing arm.

35 minScrappy in the middle just there, and the ball is now with Celta's defence. Again.

34 minAnother corner, this time a Navas cross blocked. Sevilla are looking to use the right flank as much as possible.

33 minChance for Sevilla! As I say that Baba finds Negrego but Cabral defends well. Corner.

32 minAnother Celta attack breaks down in the final third. That's the story of the game so far, there's no cutting edge from either side yet.

31 minKrohn-Dehli is in acres of space on the left for Celta, but Park looks for Aspas instead and the chance has gone. He really should have passed it wide then.

30 minFree-kick given to Sevilla. Cabral penalised for jumping with Baba. It comes to nothing, and Celta are back on the ball.

29 minCampana goes for goal from fully 30 yards. No threat whatsoever, well wide.

28 minNow Sevilla have a go. However, it breaks down as soon as they near the attacking third. More like chess than football so far.

27 minCelta happy to pass around the defence. Sevilla, apparently, happy to watch them do it.

26 minTunez looks for Augusto down the right, but it's too long and a goal kick. The pace has slowed down a touch.

24 minLopez tests his shooting from 25 yards. Needs a boot change it seems, it's well wide.

23 minIt's getting a little sloppy now. In fact, sloppy from Sevilla more than Celta as passes continue to get intercepted.

22 minAspas again causes problems in the Sevilla defence, he's lively tonight.

22 minNice touch from Navas, and Kondogbia is brought down but Sevilla want to speed up the pace.

21 minIt's getting more open now this game, both teams are finding a way through on occasion, and both sides look like they could score.

20 minChance for Sevilla! Kondogbia is played through but his cross-shot is wide. Chance at the other end! Park hits a shot straight at Palop.

18 minAugusto tries to cross, but again it's deep and comfortable for Palop.

17 minChance for Celta! Aspas strikes from a difficult angle to test Palop low to his right. It's a good save - you'd expect him to stop it, but he still had do.

16 minSevilla look to press, but Navas's pass is too strong and Celta eventually win a defensive throw.

14 minThe header from Tunez is the best chance so far, both defences are holding solid thus far.

13 min... it's long and easy for Palop in the away goal.

13 minFree-kick for Celta Vigo as Cicinho brings down Krohn-Dehli...

12 min... which Spahic meets with a very difficult diving header, but he won't score from there.

11 minCorner at the other end, Campana's cross blocked.

10 minChance for Celta Vigo! The corner comes in and Tunez flicks towards goal and Park cannot quite turn it in.

9 minPark tries to drive through and wins a throw, which turns into a corner and an early chance.

8 minIt is actually Sergio Alvarez in goal for Celta - Varas, on loan from Sevilla, was announced as the starting 'keeper, but he is not.

6 minTypical La Liga game here so far. Lots of passing, lots of movement.. As Negredo goes for goal from almost half-way! Nowhere near.

5 minSevilla looking comfortable on the ball in the early exchanges, some patient passing.

4 minSome passing from both sides early on. They are both just testing the water here.

2 minAn awful backpass there from Lago but Varas just managed to get to it. Let off for the home side.

2 minEarly corner for Celta Vigo after good work from Aspas.

1 minThe minute's silence observed, we're underway.

8.32pmAs the teams get ready, four of Celta Vigo's last five La Liga games have ended 2-1 - so that's my score prediction here, to Sevilla.

8.30pmAlmost time for kick-off here. Another stat that could please the neutral is that Celta Vigo's last three home games have had three or more goals... don't blame me if we get none though.

8.29pmIn terms of history between the sides, Sevilla have won the last three in all competitions, and you'd have to make them favourites here.

8.27pmThreats for either side, with plenty of attacking talent on display. In particular for the home side Krohn-Dehli and Aspas, with Negredo and Navas with a similar understanding for the away side.

8.25pmSevilla: Palop; Cicinho, Botia, Spahic, Navarro; Maduro, Navas, Kondogbia, Campana, Baba; Negredo

8.23pmRight, time for the teams. First up, Celta Vigo: Varas; Mallo, Cabral, Tunez, Lago; Augusto, Oubina, Lopez, Krohn-Dehli; Park, Aspas

8.16pmGood evening and welcome to Sports Mole's live text commentary from the Municipal de Balaidos. Let's hope for an exciting game tonight.
