Inter Milan climbed to fifth in the Serie A table following a 1-0 victory away at Cesena this afternoon.
Esteban Cambiasso went close to giving Inter a fourth-minute lead, but his low effort was palmed away by Francesco Antonioli.
Just before the break former Chelsea striker Adrian Mutu fired over for Cesena when well positioned.
The winning goal came on 63 minutes courtesy of Andrea Ranocchia. The centre-back rose highest to meet Maicon's free-kick and guide the ball beyond the reach of Antonioli.
Cesena's Abdelkader Ghezzal almost claimed a late equaliser for the home side but his effort was denied by Julio Cesar.
