Ryan Bertrand is expected to make his Champions League debut in tonight's final, unless Florent Malouda can prove his fitness.

Chelsea caretaker manager Roberto Di Matteo is likely to start Ryan Bertrand in tonight's Champions League final, despite the player having no previous experience of European club football.

With his squad depleted through suspensions and injuries, the Italian has been training all week with the 22-year-old playing on the left side of midfield as he prepares his side to face Bayern Munich.

Bertrand's selection is expected to depend on whether Florent Malouda, who is very doubtful, is cleared to play.

"I will wait for the last, final session to reassess all the players and make the final team selection," Di Matteo said. "I've been trying different solutions to cover every eventuality."

Bertrand made his first Premier League start in Chelsea's 2-1 win over Wigan Athletic last month.
