Jose Mourinho: 'Winning by five goals in Germany not normal'

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho admits that winning 5-0 in Germany against Schalke 04 in the Champions League is "not normal".

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has praised his team's "impressive" 5-0 Champions League win away at Schalke 04, admitting that winning by such an emphatic scoreline in Germany is "not normal".

The Blues raced into a three-goal lead before the break, before quickfire strikes by Didier Drogba and Ramires midway through the second half confirmed the rout.

Mourinho told reporters after the game: "The team played a fantastic match. At this moment this team is very mature and very confident.

"To win 5-0 away in the Champions League is not normal. To win 5-0 in Germany is even more not normal. The performance was complete. It was very impressive.

"We have a good team. Obviously we can lose and the bad result is waiting for us. But the reality is the team is playing very well."

The result means that Chelsea have secured top spot in Group G.
