Sam Allardyce: 'Rafael Benitez spat is water under the bridge'

West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce says that he wants to avoid any spats with Chelsea boss Rafael Benitez following their public feud during their times at Bolton Wanderers and Liverpool respectively.

West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce has insisted that his previous feud with Rafael Benitez is now over.

When he was Bolton Wanderers manager, Allardyce said that he disliked Benitez, whom he accused of getting "personal" when speaking of Bolton's physical presence during the Spaniard's time at Liverpool.

"I don't want to jump into that scenario, I am a bit bigger than that, I don't want to go tit for tat," said Allardyce.

"It was a long time ago, a lot of water has gone under the bridge since then and I am just looking forward to the game."

Allardyce and his team will go up against Benitez and his new club Chelsea tomorrow in the Premier League.
