Chelsea manager Antonio Conte says that he is happy to have claimed a comprehensive win over a tough opponent in Stoke City.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has said that he is happy to have claimed victory over a tough opponent following his side's 4-0 win at Stoke City this afternoon.

A profitable trip to the bet365 saw summer signing Alvaro Morata claim a hat-trick as the champions kept up the pressure on league leaders Manchester United and Manchester City with a comprehensive win.

United and Arsenal had already dropped points at the home of the Potters prior to today, a fact that was not lost on Conte.

"It was a good day, a good result for us. Stoke are a really good team and very strong," he told BBC Sport afterwards. "It was very difficult to win here.

"We deserved to win the game. We started well and scored early. We were in control of the game. I repeat, it's not simple to win away against them.

"Morata played a good game. A really good performance. Now he has to continue this way to be a great striker.

"I think we have to be focused at what we do and not others. We want to fight in every competition we are playing."

The Blues now face a tough trip to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on Wednesday, before welcoming City to Stamford Bridge next Saturday.
