Jose Mourinho demands improvement from Chelsea players

Jose Mourinho demands an improvement from his Chelsea team next season following a difficult season for his side.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has demanded an improvement from his team next season as his first campaign back at Stamford Bridge looks set to close without a trophy.

The Blues were knocked out of the Champion's League by Atletico Madrid on Wednesday and are two points behind Liverpool and Manchester City in the race for the Premier League title.

Mourinho told reporters: "You can't improve John Terry, Ashley Cole and these guys. If you keep them in the position where they are, it's fantastic. All of the others have to improve. You can't succeed with everybody.

"You try to help, but it's up to them. Every one who is in an age of improvement needs to improve. For example, has Andre Schurrle had a good season? Not bad, but next season must be better. Much better, I think.

"Schurrle, Mohamed Salah, Oscar, Willian, Eden Hazard, all of them are in an age of improvement."

Chelsea take on Norwich in the league on Sunday.
