Chelsea are reportedly set to launch a move to sign Atletico Madrid centre-back Miranda this summer.
The 30-year-old has been a regular presence at the heart of Atletico's defence for four seasons, but his contract runs out in 2016.
The Mirror reports that Chelsea technical director Michael Emenalo watched Miranda during Atletico's 2-2 draw with Malaga at the weekend, while the player is keen on a move to West London.
Jose Mourinho has been linked with signing a new centre-back this summer for the majority of the season, with Real Madrid's Raphael Varane and Borussia Dortmund's Mats Hummels also suggested as possible targets.
Miranda moved to Madrid in 2011 from Sao Paolo.
