Chelsea 'lead the race to sign Alex Telles'

Chelsea are in pole position to sign Porto defender Alex Telles this summer, according to a report.

Chelsea are reportedly ahead of Paris Saint-Germain in the race to sign Porto defender Alex Telles.

The Blues are expected to sign a new left-back in this summer's transfer window due to the struggles of Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri during the 2019-20 campaign.

Leicester City's Ben Chilwell has been strongly linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, but the speculation surrounding a potential swoop for Telles has also gathered pace in recent weeks.

PSG were thought to be at the head of the queue for the Brazil international, who has scored 10 times and provided nine assists in 40 appearances for Porto this season.

However, according to Tuttosport, Frank Lampard's side are in pole position to sign the defender during this summer's transfer window, which could allegedly run until October.

Telles has contributed eight goals and five assists in 23 Primeira Liga outings this term.
