Manchester City are thought to have beaten Chelsea to the signing of young Millwall winger Samuel Edozie in a £600,000 deal.
The 16-year-old has been courted by a number of clubs in England and the Bundesliga after impressing for the Lions' under-18s and under-19s sides last season.
According to the Manchester Evening News, City have won the race for the Nigeria-born youngster and have agreed a deal with Millwall worth an initial £600,000 that could rise to over £1m with bonuses.
Chelsea had thought that they were in pole position for the deal, having invited him to their Cobham training base and introduced him to the likes of Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
Edozie is expected to go straight into the City under-18s side when he officially joins the club on July 1.
