Report: Atletico Madrid want Pedro

A report claims that Atletico Madrid want to bring Chelsea midfielder Pedro back to Spain in the January transfer window.

Atletico Madrid are reportedly desperate to bring Chelsea attacker Pedro back to Spain when the winter transfer window opens at the start of next month.

Chelsea fought off interest from Manchester United to sign Pedro from Barcelona in the summer, but the Spanish international has only scored twice in 17 games for the Blues this term.

It has been reported that the 28-year-old wants a quick return to his homeland and according to Don Balon, Atletico are the team in the driving seat.

Atletico currently sit joint top of La Liga alongside Pedro's former club Barcelona, but goals have been a problem for Diego Simeone's side – hitting just 22 in 15 league matches and eight of those have come from Antoine Griezmann.

Pedro, who is just one of a number of players believed to be unsettled at Stamford Bridge, scored 99 times for Barcelona's first team between 2008 and 2015.
