Chelsea are reportedly hopeful of getting a double deal over the line for Roma pair Edin Dzeko and Emerson Palmieri before the January transfer window closes.
The Blues are said to be on the brink of announcing the arrival of Palmieri - rated at around £20m - after reaching an agreement with the Italian club over the weekend.
A deal to bring Dzeko back to the Premier League, however, two years after he brought an end to his spell at Manchester City, is proving to be a little more difficult.
According to The Sun, the Bosnia-Herzegovina international's representatives are in London and it is hoped that terms can be finalised on a £28m transfer.
Chelsea will also have to pay up to £5m in add-ons, though, which has proved to be a sticking point in talks so far, and they are prepared to look elsewhere if discussions drag on.
