Everton and Watford have reached an "amicable agreement" in their dispute over Marco Silva.
The long-running saga, which began when Everton targeted then Watford boss Silva following the sacking of Ronald Koeman in October 2017, finally appears to be over.
Watford tweeted: "Everton and Watford can confirm that they have reached an amicable agreement regarding the appointment of Marco Silva as Everton manager last year.
"Both Everton and Watford are keen to move on from this matter. No further comment will be made."
Watford rejected overtures from Everton for the services of Silva in November 2017 only to sack him two months later.
In explaining their decision, the Hornets blamed an "unwarranted approach" from Everton for a "significant deterioration in both focus and results to the point where the long-term future of Watford has been jeopardised".
The two clubs were initially unable to reach a settlement and Watford made an official complaint to the Premier League in May, but no further intervention will now be necessary.
Silva has endured a mixed start to life at Goodison Park and this news comes two weeks after Everton lost to Watford in the Premier League to slip four points behind the Hornets.
