Everton manager David Moyes has insisted that he believes that midfielder Marouane Fellaini was unfairly treated in Saturday's 2-2 draw with Wigan Athletic.
Fellaini received a yellow card for leading with his arm when challenging for a high-ball with Wigan's Maynor Figueroa, but Moyes believes that the caution was harsh.
Moyes said: "Fellaini needs more protection.
"He was two foot above Figueroa and anyone who has played the game knows that you need to use your arms to get elevation.
"I can't understand why that when we have a corner, what Fellaini would be doing to the Wigan players? Why would he be trying to foul?"
The 24-year-old has impressed for Everton this season with three goals in seven league appearances.
